The Rules of Online Dating

When a person takes up the initiative to find the perfect soul mate online, there are a few simple rules that should be kept in mind. Here are the dos and don’ts of e-dating.
The Dos
·         Do post a picture that reflects one’s nature and personality. It is always good to be properly covered up. Use a photo that is recent. The picture should resemble the person setting up the profile.
·         Do date someone who can actually be met. Try not to date someone who does not live in the same city. Even though online dating can help two people in getting to know each other, much more can be unearthed if they can actually meet.
·         Do take things slowly. Let the relationship develop. Learn as much as can be learned about a potential partner. Keep your eyes and ears open. If the person sounds too good to be true, they probably are faking it.
The Don’ts
·         Do not reveal too much. It is never a good idea to impart with cell phone numbers, the location of the house one resides in, social security numbers, bank account numbers and the likes.
·         Do not use any kind of sexual innuendo. Flirting is okay most of the times but do not discuss former sexual activities. That part of a person’s life should be dealt with in psychological therapy sessions only.
Do not pick up potential partners based on how good-looking they appear in their profile pictures. For all one knows, it might not even be theirs. Emotions, likes and dislikes are much more important than looks.
